Essential oils for Nosebleed
For most people, nosebleeds are a rare occurrence and are usually the result of injury or trauma to the nose. Tipping the head back and holding a tissue to the nose with a gentle pinch is all that is required to stop the bleeding. However for some, nosebleeds are a common and distressing ailment that can start for almost any reason, gush blood profusely and just don’t stop, ruining your clothes and definitely your day. Nosebleeds start when the tiny blood vessels, a network of small capillaries on the lining of the nose, rupture and break. The are many reasons why these capillaries can suddenly rupture but fortunately, there are several home remedies for nosebleed that you should use to treat your nosebleed and stop the blood.
What Causes Nosebleeds?
The causes of nosebleeds can be numerous and can vary from blowing the nose very hard, overuse of decongestant nasal spray, use of chemical irritant, deviated septum, injury, and even cocaine abuse. For some, just the natural inflammation from a cold, an allergy or perhaps just the crisp winter’s air can cause your nose capillaries to swell and rupture.
If you suffer from nosebleeds, you should know that there are two types – anterior and posterior, depending on where the bleeding in the nose originates. Anterior nosebleeds are the most common and they start when the blood vessels in the front part of the nose rupture; a posterior nosebleed, which is more severe or chronic nosebleed, starts when the blood vessels at the back of your nose rupture. Anterior nosebleeds generally occur when the climate is dry, which causes crusting, cracking, and then bleeding. On the other hand, a posterior nosebleed is rare and in this case, the blood flows back to the throat or back of the mouth. Both types of nosebleed are more frequent in the winter than in the summer.
Lemon Essential Oil
Lemon oil is an effective and proven remedy for nosebleed. It has been used in aromatherapy for years and now many new therapeutic potentials have been recognized including curing a nosebleed.
Just put a few drops of the oil in the affected nose and leave it. The bleeding will stop after sometime.

When choosing the right method to use essential oils, always keep in mind the desired result you are wanting and then determine the best application for use. Essential oils can enter the body by being applied to the skin. This method can vary from using a compress, gargling, bath or even massage. It requires several drops of essential oils to be used topically in some manner. It is important to note that most essential oils should not be applied directly to the skin without being diluted.
While people inhale and diffuse essential oils for a variety of reasons, it has been shown that inhalation is most effective and best suited to treat a variety of respiratory complaints. Ingestion of essential oils has had much controversy, I suggest you do the proper research yourself and use safe practices. Cases of death, organ failure and hospitalization in the history of aromatherapy have been caused by ingesting essential oils.
